Tesla's new car, the Model 3 goes on sale for pre-orders on April 1 (no joke!). eMotion will be putting our deposit down along with thousands of others. Deliveries of the new four wheels of electric awesomeness won't actually hit the road until late 2017.
Elon Musk, the Tesla CEO, promises this car will retail for $35,000. After federal and state tax credits, your price could be in the low $25,000 range, definitely competitive with gasoline vehicles. That might just be enough to push the 200-mile range car into the mainstream.
Tesla is unveiling the Model 3's prototype in Los Angeles, California on March 31, 2016. Model 3 reservations will open to the public in Tesla stores at 10am Pacific on March 31st. A website live stream with online reservations will begin at 8:30pm Pacific the same day.
